We have opportunities to licence medical technologies, drug discovery programmes and other technologies developed from academic research.
We have dedicated computational chemistry, small molecule drug discovery and therapeutic antibody facilities available to take early stage drug and antibody targets as far as ‘lead’ stage.
In addition, we provide access to collaborations with world-class MRC scientists and to a wide range of research reagents, tools and cell lines.
We have a strong record in commercialisation, including:
- 12 drugs based on MRC IP with marketing approval, including Humira® and Herceptin®
- Involvement in 17 start-up companies, including Cambridge Antibody Technology (CAT) and Celltech
- Licences to more than 20 companies to sell MRC research reagents
