We help translate early stage MRC research into commercial applications
Development Gap Fund
Our Development Gap Fund helps ideas from MRC scientists with commercial potential cross the gap between traditional academic funding and commercial development.
Since 2003 MRCT has invested over £7 million in early stage research with commercial potential.
Some of our successes include:
• Formation of Heptares Therapeutics Ltd, a GPCR drug discovery company, which raised a Series A fund of £21m in February 2009
• Development of a simple sponge device for the detection of oesophageal cancer
• A modular website offering validated and supported tests for the assessment of cognitive function
Funding opportunities
We welcome applications for match funding between MRCT and industrial partners. For further information about this, please contact the DGF manager Dr Lorraine Anderson or fill in this form.
